The Winning Teams learning and development model of engagement was originally created in response to a learning need in the corporate world. Employees who needed to learn and embed core knowledge were unable to retain and apply what they had learnt from single training sessions without follow up in the workplace. What they needed was a creative and enjoyable way to practise and reinforce learning and its application to their job requirements. The answer was found in team sport.

Today we continue this development in the corporate space through Winning Teams Professional.

Winning Teams model and system is well suited for medium to large organisations where strategy execution requires a focus on change management, knowledge development, core knowledge retention, or maintenance of core knowledge. It supports discussion, sharing and collaboration in an engaged Learning and Development process following some basic knowledge management principles. The Model

Winning Teams Cup Winning Teams Learning and Development Engagement Model is unique and has been used successfully in corporate learning and development and in the schooling sector of education. This engaging learning and development model focuses on core knowledge and key concepts developing key skills, attitudes and behaviours. Using the sporting principles identified in the beginning repetition and the continuous engagement of staff and management facilitate the key deliverables. The sporting competition methodology provides a platform build core knowledge. This foundation establishes a non-threatening environment to prepare, assess and review performance while providing constant feedback in a fun and interactive way.

 

In Education

Winning Teams has embarked on creating more economically active people in South Africa. Winning Teams Edu, in partnership with a number of Provincial Departments of Basic Education, agreed to undertake a pilot to use the Winning Teams learner engagement model to ascertain the impact on the Grade 12 Mathematics & Physical Sciences pass rate by involving learners and empowering them to support teachers. The improvement in the quantity and quality of the 2011 & 2010 pass rates of 200 schools in this pilot has been phenomenal and far exceeded expectations. This model is being used to implement the 2013 Grade 12 Mathematics & Physical Science Examination / Revision Programme in public schools. This programme enables the learners to help the teacher to do the catch-up i.e. Grade 11 core knowledge and embed the key concepts they need to excel in their examinations. This is done in partnership with teachers but performed outside of teaching time i.e Saturdays, holidays and scheduled revision. The response from learners, parents, teachers, subject advisors and district management who have witnessed this process is one of amazement.
